January 2005 Happy New Year! Wow, What a year 2004 was! We would like to thank all of the artists who made our first year such a huge success. Here's a quick rundown of what's happening at Imagine Scorpions drummer James Kottak and his wife Athena Lee (Tommy Lee's sister) stopped by the studio to play us some new music from their band KRUNK which has the legendary drummer fronting and playing guitar and Athena on the drums. Cool Punk/Pop/Rock stuff! We'll be working with them to finalize the recording and mixing for this great project. Magnifier 's debut Album "Space that Binds" is finished and being mixed. Jon and the boys have really done it right. After recording almost 2 albums worth of material over the last year, they have plenty of great songs to choose from and this is turning out to be a really cool record. Stay tuned to this station for info on when the CD drops. Asylum Records artist Fatsoe One 's Album "Is That Soe?" is pressed, on the street and creating a big buzz. You can hear and buy it online here. We're proud to say it was all recorded and mixed here at Imagine. He's been appearing a lot in LA lately but plans to do some local shows soon. We'll let you know when he's appearing in town. A lot's been going on with The Craze lately. When their drummer Blaine split for college, they took a little break to search for a replacement. The new kid on the block is Ainsley and they are back in the studio with a whole bunch of new tunes written with the new lineup. This stuff just keeps gettin' better and better. Hip Hop label Westland Music has given us the debut album by their artist TUGGBOAT to mix and master. These are true stories of life in the streets and it's a slammin' album. We'll let you know when it hits the streets. Originally brought in to record some of singer/songwriter/guitarist Jon Rhoten's songs, drummer Bobby Valenz, guitarist Brett Custodio and Bassist Alex Martinez found that, along with Jon, they shared a common love for the "Brit Pop" sound. By the end of the session it sounded like they had played together for years. It was truly uncanny. As they left the studio that night they agreed to get back together and try a rehearsal / writing session as a band. Two weeks later they were back as Magnifier with 10 songs and ready to record a full length CD. Also, they'll be appearing Friday, March 12th with The Craze at "The Space" (formally Club Lush ) in Santa Monica and March 29th at Whisky A Go Go in Hollywood.
